For Joseph Gish, his path to a happy marriage was certainly not the stereotypical romance that you see on screen, but that isn’t keeping him and his wife Julie from sharing their story about how they built a strong connection despite having the odds stacked against them on TV.

Gish met Julie, who is a  Chinese national, for only 6 days in Barcelona before deciding to leave the US to be with her. Together, they overcame cultural differences and extraordinarily tough times and have now been married for 12 years. The idea to bring their love story and all they’ve learned from it to an audience started when Gershom Sikaala, the pastor and close friend of Chadwick Boseman, came to them.

The show will chronicle some crazy experiences between Gish and Julie, and will feature many other couples and friends of them as well, says Gish.

“The premise of the show is to have Julie and I experience some things because our life is so crazy and hectic,” Gish said. “We will also be bringing in lots of our friends, including couples and single friends. We also have lots of friends in the LGBTQ+ community that we would like to bring in as well. Our hope is that we can show everyone how to hash out issues across all different types of relationships.”

According to Gish, the hope is that the show will be able to provide some much needed happiness in a time that is currently defined by lots of hatred, division and suffering.

“We Hope that the show provides comfort, support and belief that true love exists. Due to covid there has been a spike in divorces, as people stuck at home can't handle working with their partner.” Gish said. “We want to provide a space to show how to hash out a relationship. The key to a successful life is to have a partner and be happy at home. If you don't have a happy home life ur life is gonna be terrible outside of that. A lot of people don't believe in love and just want to go on tinder.”

The network the show is supposed to air on just started this month, and they are currently searching for cameramen. The hope is that they will be able to start the show by the end of the year.
