Promotions and Hiring of Attorneys

Recently, Powers Pyles & Sutter & Verville P.C promoted Peter W. Thomas as the Managing Partner and the President of the firm. The promotion will be effective from April 1, 2021. He will be succeeding Jim Jorlin, who was in this position since 2016. Peter Powers joined the firm in 1991, and since 1996, he has been the principal of the firm.

Matthew A. Rossi - White Collar & Government Investigations Defense Group

Vedder Price saw a new shareholder, joinee, Matthew A. Rossi, who became a part of their White Collar & Government Investigations Defense Group. Matthew worked in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division as Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel. He was responsible for investigating and prosecuting federal security law violations.

Alison P. Snyder - Associate in Romer Debbas LLP

Alison P. Snyder accepted a position as an associate in Romer Debbas LLP. She is expected to support the residential real estate practice. Her specialization is to assist lending institutions, sellers, and buyers in the residential real estate sector transactions. Her immense experience in pre-contract due diligence is another feather in her cap and big support to the firm.

Davis Wright Tremaine and Scott W. MacCormack

Davis Wright Tremaine had a new managing partner, Scott W. MacCormack, who will join at a new position this summer. In 2008, Davis Wright joined the firm and contributed to its success and growth. For six years, he worked with the Executive Committee. He also chaired the Compensation Committee of the firm.

He is committed to executing the strategic plan of the firm to foster an equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment. He is expected to drive growth and strengthen the culture of the firm as work is expected to evolve with the Covid pandemic.

A Great Honor

Recently, fourteen Gilbert attorneys received recognition on the 2020 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll. This recognition is considered a great honor for the Washington DC attorneys who contributed more than 50 hours of pro bono work to those who cannot afford legal counsel.
