Fentons Creamery was founded in 1894 by Elbridge Seth, a.k.a. E.S., in Oakland, CA. Since 1986, the Creamery has been owned & operated by the 3rd ownership in over 127 year, the Whidden family. Signature flavors likeToasted Almond, Rocky Road and Swiss Milk Chocolate were invented by Melvin Fenton, grandson to E.S., who convinced his Grandpa to add ice cream to the family’s dairy operation.
