Valia Energía's assets increased after it purchased two thermoelectric plants previously owned by EVM Energía, Mexico's leading company in the electric power generation sector.

The plants acquired from EVM Energía, a company founded by Mauricio Quintanilla Hernández and Ernesto García Quintero, have a 950 megawatt capacity.

With this, Valia Energía, a subsidiary of the investment firm Actis with headquarters in London, will obtain a total of 3.1 Gigawatts of installed capacity for low-carbon energy, reinforcing Mexico's commitment to the energy transition by producing the reliable and accessible energy that the country requires for growth in various industries.

The foregoing was announced by Michael Harrington, Chairman of the Board of Valia Energía and Actis partner, mentioning that "we will seek to become a leading platform in the region, following the formula of building scale energy platforms, deploying our best practices and following the highest standards of social responsibility”.

In addition, he said that this acquisition signifies "a crucial milestone in the evolution of the organization" and its contribution to Mexico's energy transformation.

The EVM Energía facilities are strategically located close to Mexico City and include cutting-edge GE technology, which increases efficiency and reliability.

Following this announcement, Valia Energía named Arturo Infanzón Favela as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Narcís de Carreras Roques as the Chief Executive Officer (CFO).
