UEM Edgenta Announces Partnership with German Company WAS

At the Arab Health 2023 exhibition, Kuala Lumpur - based UEM Edgenta Berhad entered into a Memorandum of Business Exploration with German company WAS.

UEM Edgenta Berhad (widely known as ‘UEM Edgenta’), one of Southeast Asia’s leading Asset Management and Infrastructure Solutions companies, has announced a Memorandum of Business Exploration (“MOBE”) partnership with German company Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeug GmbH (known as ‘WAS’).

The partnership will strengthen UEM Edgenta’s global position in the healthcare infrastructure business, and is being conducted through UEM Edgenta’s Healthcare Support division. The division is a market leader in non-clinical healthcare support services in Southeast Asia and beyond, providing services to over 300 hospitals in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and India.

WAS is a German based company and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of special vehicles and ambulances, with over 20 years of experience. Taking advantage of the latest technological advances and innovative concepts for ambulances and other patient transport vehicles, WAS provides emergency services with safer, more efficient, and user-friendly emergency vehicles.

These products allow WAS to pursue the goal of strengthening emergency services offered, including making them more sustainable for the future.

The MOBE partnership agreement was sealed during the Arab Health 2023 exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Present during the signing ceremony was Syahrunizam Samsudin, Rais Imran, Chief Strategy Officer of UEM Edgenta, Hillary Chua, Chief Financial Officer of UEM Edgenta, Shaiful Subhan, Managing Director of Edgenta Mediserve, Derrick Wong, General Manager of Operon Middle East, together with Andreas Plöger, Managing Director/Chief Strategy Officer of WAS.

On hand to observe the agreement was Yang Berbahagia Tuan Fadly Amri, Consul General of Malaysia to the United Arab Emirates, Asrul Ab Rahim, Khazanah representative, Abdul Mukti, Director of MIDA, Dubai and Megat Iskandar, Trade Commissioner of MATRADE.
