Israel-based project management firm Y. Bandel Project Management (YBPM) has announced that it is planning to double its headcount within the next two years.

YBPM specializes in managing projects that involve contracting, expanding, and renovating the offices of major Israeli and multinational companies, from the startup to conglomerate level. The company currently has around 20 employees, including three administrators, one each for legal, budgeting, and coordination processes. It also recently added three engineers, bringing it closer to its goal of doubling its workforce by 2025. YBPM also expects to have covered over 800,000 square feet total with their office space designs within that period.

According to founder and CEO Yigal Bandel, he started the firm in 2012, having developed a vision of how he wanted to work within the market. Having worked with a high number of startups and multinational companies in Israel, Bandel saw the opportunity to help these businesses expand their facilities, along with Israel’s growing reputation as a startup and innovation hub.

Bandel is also passionate about improving the workspaces for employees, as most people devote a significant amount of time to work. “We spend eight hours at work, which means we spend roughly half our waking hours in the office, excluding weekends,” Bandel says. “Since we oversee the building of offices, it’s like we are responsible for a huge part of employees’ lives. There is a growing demand for office space among Israeli tech firms, and having a great working space is one of the key ways they attract talent.”

YBPM recently worked with multinational firms, overseeing the construction of the company’s offices and laboratories across four floors of its building in Haifa. According to YBPM, it was able to successfully complete the project while remaining within budget, despite the high standards of planning and short timetables. The company also completed a project with a Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles, building its first international exhibition space, which will serve as a prototype for its other succeeding projects.

Bandel says that YBPM is also looking to work on turnkey projects in the future, which are quite different from anything the company has worked on so far. Says Bandel, “Usually, it’s the companies that approach us for project management. But in a turnkey project, we are the one focal point for the project, overseeing everything. We will oversee it until completion and the buyer will get the completed product, ready to move in.”
