Megre Interiors, a Los Angeles-based creative house specializing in hospitality design, has recently celebrated 15 years as one of the most decorated design partners of leading hospitality groups and global brands across the US, Europe and Asia.

From her groundbreaking work designing the highest restaurant in Europe at the start of her career, to transforming multi-unit buildings into some of the most luxurious resort-inspired family apartments in Los Angeles, Yuna Megre, Founder and Principal of Megre Interiors, has collected dozens of awards and has completed over 200 projects across 14 countries in a journey that has established the Megre brand as one of the interior design world’s best-kept secrets.

“I've never worked for anybody in the industry, having started my own firm out of design school, so I always find a way to do things the optimal way rather than someone’s template” says Megre, explaining her company’s design philosophy. “ That's given us a fantastic advantage over the years, because we see and do things rather differently.”

Yuna Megre's proprietary human centered concept driven approach to hospitality design has established her as a trusted partner to major hospitality brands across the world of which some are located in the UK, US, Switzerland, China, Georgia and the UAE.

Having recently collected two Muse Awards for her work Yuna Megre is now shortlisted for Designer of the Year by the International Property Awards, ‘I feel very honored and it feels like a homecoming because London is where my creative career started having studied design at the University of The Arts London’. This will bring the total international awards received by this acclaimed creative to 36.

Yuna Megre finds time to give back to the design community through teaching and working with various design associations around the world such as BIID, IIDA and CIID. She credits her multicultural upbringing and her background in marketing and hospitality as a restaurateur herself for shaping her unique approach to interior design.

Managing international projects with a small team of 20 poses many challenges but after 15 years it is a well oiled machine. Megre says this has worked to her clients’ advantage. “If you go to huge companies that have hundreds of employees and a multitude of projects, you're basically inserted into a massive machine. There is no hand holding, there's no individual attention, no focus,” says Megre.

“That is where we stand out. With our size, it is easy for me and the rest of the team to provide a personalized touch to each project.”

Maintaining an all-female crew has also been a deliberate move, which Megre says is her way of creating opportunities for other women to succeed in the industry.

“I wanted to create a space for women to be creative and at the same time feel really relaxed. Over the years, there are about 15 design agencies that have been started by our former colleagues. Many top talents who have worked for us have moved on to start their own firms, and that makes me really happy and proud,” says Megre.

‘Why hospitality?, I think it really speaks to my feminine nurturing side, after all hospitality is a service to others to protect, nurture and delight’ says Megre.
