The Wizard Academy is announcing the launch of its new Bonafide Whiskey Enthusiast Program, which is an online non-certification whiskey course that teaches the fundamentals of whiskey production, regions, styles, and how to host a tasting.

The course consists of a series of videos that educate the attendees about whiskey production in different parts of the world and the different styles of whiskey that are found in different regions. Every section of the course is accompanied by a short quiz that tests the knowledge people have gained while watching the course videos. When people sign up and begin taking the course they have the option to work through at their own pace. The videos will always be available for people who have purchased the course program, so they can have the option to revisit it at any time.

According to Daniel Whittington, Chancellor of The Wizard Academy, the Bonafide Whiskey Course gives people the chance to learn more about whiskey while gaining an appreciation for it and the ability to speak knowledgeably about the liquor to their friends and family. He says the course has an added benefit for business owners and people who work at bars and restaurants where whiskey is sold.

“I was tired of having conversations in bars with consumers or bartenders that demonstrated a fundamental misunderstanding of whiskey as a category. That kind of misinformation spread by people who are supposed to be knowledgeable is frustrating,” says Whittington. “I wanted to create a program that was affordable, quick, and accurate to help raise the level of conversation in the whiskey industry.”

Whittington says the Bonafide Whiskey Enthusiast Program has the potential to become a fast resource for the whiskey industry to get more people to start a journey in whiskey education. According to Whittington, the program will open people up to ideas and information that enable them to see possible futures with whiskey they hadn’t previously imagined.

When attendees pass the course they will become card-carrying, “Bonafide Whiskey Enthusiasts.” It will also give them access to a private community of other whiskey enthusiasts. The program was designed by the Whiskey Marketing School in Austin, Texas, a whiskey sommelier training program designed and run by The Wizard Academy, a business school for entrepreneurs.
