Watershape Consulting, a veteran within the pool, spa, and water feature industry, has just announced its plans for attending the International Pool Spa Patio Expo in Las Vegas. The event will be held on November 13, 2023 and activities will last for six days. Attendees will convene at the Las Vegas Convention center and can choose to participate in the event’s conference activities that begin on the 10th and last until the 15th. Watershape Consulting will be holding educational seminars for interested industry professionals through its hands-on Watershape University curriculums and later opening its trade booth for the conference.

At the International Pool Spa Patio Expo, Watershape Consulting will offer specific university programs for interested students. Some of the hands-on workshops include a three day construction program covering the fundamentals of geotechnical and structural engineering, plumbing, mechanical systems, and more. The Essential Plaster Workshop and the Advanced Elements and Principles of Design will also be offered. Students can still sign up for these classes on the Expo or Watershape University websites. These programs are helpful for first-time beginners and current professionals hoping to gain continuing education credits and certifications.

Watershape Consulting was founded in 2004 by David J. Peterson, a professional engineer who has spent decades working with water. Originally focused on structural engineering, David never envisioned designing and constructing pools and spas. It was only when he began an internship at a successful marine mammal exhibit company that he realized how challenging, yet rewarding the work could be. This discovery and a personal connection to the industry allowed him to transition from his current work into the pool and spa industry. Since then, David’s and Watershape Consulting have constructed hundreds of pools across the world with the goal to produce an exquisite water system every time.

An interesting factor that differentiates Watershape Consulting’s offerings from competitors is its university. What once started four years ago as a simple way for people to learn pool engineering and design skills has now expanded into over 200 programs led by 50 different instructors. Watershape University’s programs can be taken online and in-person at major trade shows and private events. David believes offering affordable, quality courses ensures that inexperienced contractors don’t build pools that will leave homeowners unsatisfied and paying for their mistakes. This is especially important for David as he refers to his work as the aquatic wish fulfillment industry, meaning that pools should be creations that improve the surrounding space and bring joy to clients.

Following Watershape Consulting’s appearance at the Las Vegas International Pool Spa Patio Expo, the company will be attending a similar event in December and January. The December event will be held in Canada and focuses on covering industry technology and networking while multiple programs will be offered in Atlantic City, New Jersey at The Pool & Spa Show. Watershape Consulting hopes to connect with clients in need of pool design and engineering services and attract more students who may be in need of education.
