A&B Candles is announcing the launch of their Colorado-inspired homemade candles in which the products are named after important places and experiences in the state and all the labeling for the candles has the Colorado flag.

The company was founded by Amy Stadstad and her long time friend Becca Karns after the two had been making candles together for a number of years while their daughters were growing up together. The duo’s love for making candles started as a pastime when Stadstad had purchased 50 pounds of big jar candles only to find them having a tunnel effect while burning, which is what happens when the candle only burns down the middle and the wax around the jar goes unmelted.

Stadstad and Karns started making their own candles as a hobby and in 2018 they founded A&B Candles to turn the hobby into a company. At this time, Stadstad independently creates most of the candles, which are all made from natural ingredients that are free of toxins and potentially harmful chemicals. Currently Stadstad markets the candles through the company’s online presence, at farmers markets and partners with brick and mortar vendors.

Stadstad utilizes a thorough production process from her home to make all of the candles. She starts with a plant based wax and uses a mixture of essential oils to maximize the variety of potential fragrances. After she completes a new or existing line of candles, Stadstad personally tests each product to ensure it is the desired quality with no defects to uphold her rigorous standards. Stadstad says;

“My passion is to give all my customers a unique fragrance and experience with the candles I make for them by providing people with a product that is made with all natural ingredients and is perfectly safe for people or their pets,” says Stadstad. “I have found that people really support someone who is local to the area and appreciate that things are being made in a more health conscious way.”

Stadstad plans to continue growing the company, so it can become a full time endeavor and the focus of her career. She currently works as a pharmacist as well as expanding A&B Candles to reach more people and has a passion for being able to put her time and energy toward bringing joy and calmness into people’s lives through A&B Candles.
