In the vibrant UAE market, Stride Properties, a premier investment company focused on the real estate and luxury cars industries, stands out with its people-centric mission of bridging financial gaps for African investors. Whether through immensely profitable real estate investing or acquiring luxury cars - an option catered to low-capital financiers - the company stands at the forefront of a movement poised to elevate the investing experience for African entrepreneurs.

The company’s mission was sparked by the ever-fluctuating currency landscape within the continent, with Africa-wide depreciation gaining traction as import prices surge due to external factors, such as Russia’s war in Ukraine. Since January 2022, currency deflated by about 8% in the region, with some countries, for instance, Ghana and Sierra Leone, reaching a staggering 45% depreciation.

Weak currencies, combined with inflation, resulted in 18 of the 54 countries in Africa having a debt-to-GDP ratio of more than 70% in 2023. The implications of these negative trends are two-fold, affecting both investors looking to contribute to the continent’s growth and African entrepreneurs seeking lucrative opportunities in other regions.

According to Ibrahim A Kedir, half-Saudi, half-Ethiopian founder of Stride Properties, the biggest challenge investors from Africa face is access to foreign currency. To illustrate the direness of the problem, he alludes to a personal experience Ibrahim went through when trying to modernize the Ethiopian coal industry:

When I lived in Ethiopia for a short time, I saw a lot of people struggling. With insufficient electricity, many Ethiopians had to cook food using coal while living in homes with no heating. I had a plan and an idea to revolutionize the country and build a factory that produces quick-light clean coal. I had angel investors behind me, enough money, and even the land to build it. The problems started when I needed machinery. I realized that, since the machinery came from China, I needed foreign currency. Because of its immense shortage in Ethiopia, just like in many African nations, my plans never came to fruition. Africa is home to thousands of ambitious investors with futuristic ideas who want to improve the world. But until they have access to global markets, success is far away.

Dagem Birihanu, co-founder of Stride Properties, has further added his personal experience gained through years of entrepreneurship to make Stride Properties a company that is connecting the African and Middle Eastern markets, offering African investors an accessible way to gain access to a global currency. With Stride Properties, entrepreneurs can generate passive income in Dirhams, which can be then used against the continent’s inflation and currency depreciation.

Stride Properties opens two pathways to enter the thriving UAE market: real estate and luxury cars. To contribute to the first ones, the company requires a minimum investment of AED250,000, with the rest being loaned from local banks. Once the property is purchased, Stride Properties manages house maintenance and rental contracts, providing clients with monthly passive income.

Similarly, those wishing to invest in luxury cars can enter the market with a minimum down payment of AED63,000, which makes up 25% of the vehicle’s total value. For four years, Stride Properties manages the vehicle, generating passive income through luxury taxi services. It guarantees a minimum monthly income of AED4,000, providing African entrepreneurs with a unique opportunity to harness the region’s potential without staggeringly high resources.

Stride Properties' investments in the Middle East have been instrumental in assisting local banks in Africa to acquire foreign currency. This influx of foreign currency not only benefits the local banks but also plays a crucial role in stabilizing African countries’ currency situations. By providing opportunities for their investors to earn returns on their investments, Stride Properties is fostering economic growth and stability in Africa while simultaneously addressing the country's currency challenges.

“Stride means to walk with long, decisive steps in a specified direction. It signifies moving forward purposefully and confidently, So join us in our stride toward financial success,” says Ibrahim A Kedir.

Ultimately, Stride Properties is an accessible way for African investors to diversify their portfolios, access more stable currencies, and generate substantial passive income through Dubai. “We are incredibly happy with how Dubai’s economy is growing, and our goal is to make that market accessible to African investors,” shares Ibrahim. “From supplying African clients with an international currency through investments, Stride Properties is dedicated to uncompromised quality and customer satisfaction. It’s time for African investors to thrive, and we’re proud we can guide them throughout this rewarding journey.”
