Pickbrush, a company known for its rugged, ergonomic cleaning tools, has officially launched its flagship product: a multi-purpose hoof and boot brush. Backed by renewed branding and a clear market focus, the Pickbrush is poised to reach new audiences across the athletic and hiking worlds.

Initially embraced within the horse community, the Pickbrush has revealed true versatility. Although it started as a niche hoof care tool, the Pickbrush has quickly become a go-to solution for athletes and hikers alike in need of a simple, portable way to clean their footwear.
Kevin Nairne, founder and CEO of Kelcie’s Horse Treats, recognized for its premium products, saw an opportunity to breathe new life into a product with untapped potential. “The brilliance of the Pickbrush wasn’t just in how well it worked. It was how little the world knew about it,” says Nairne. “As someone immersed in the equestrian space, I’ve seen every kind of cleaning tool. But this one stood out, and I couldn’t ignore the feeling that it deserved more than it ever got.”
Kelcie’s has built its reputation on supplying horse owners with high-quality, effective products, most notably its best-selling line of nutritious horse treats. That commitment to quality and performance laid the groundwork for Kelcie’s collaboration with Pickbrush. “Everything started when I received a few sample brushes from a third-party logistics partner. Making it a business venture was the natural next step when my wife, a lifelong horsewoman, requested 20 more after trying the tool just once,” Nairne shares.
The Pickbrush was originally designed to streamline hoof cleaning by combining a heavy-duty stainless steel pick with firm, angled bristles. However, it also makes quick work of packed-in debris, from baseball cleats to work boots, thanks to its molded grip, brush control, and durable construction.

Feedback from early adopters across both markets has been overwhelmingly positive. Athletes, especially in sports like soccer and baseball, have praised the brush’s ability to keep their gear looking sharp and game-ready. “I’m pretty sure I just unlocked the holy grail of cleaning products for your cleats,” said one user. “My cleats have never been cleaner, thanks to this.”
Equestrian users echo this enthusiasm. One show jumper noted, “It crosses over really well, from picking the horse’s feet to getting all the arena sand off your boots. I like to keep my gear clean, and this does it all.”
The Pickbrush launch represents the revival of a smart tool, finally getting its moment in the spotlight. With vast market appeal and a refreshed marketing strategy, it shows immense potential in becoming a staple in athletic lockers and retail stores.
