Healthy Happy Feet, a salon suite specializing in foot care, celebrates a legacy of excellence that has shaped its practice for nearly five years. Dedicated to personalized and compassionate pedicure services, the company has become known in the St. Louis community, particularly among clients navigating complex health conditions. This milestone honors Healthy Happy Feet’s enduring mission to blend beauty, wellness, and education, offering clients a space where they can relax, rejuvenate, and step confidently into life.
“Every milestone reminds us of our commitment to care, empathy, and education,” says owner and founder Catherine “Kat” Benns. “Reaching this point means that we’ve grown as professionals and have built meaningful connections with our community.”
Healthy Happy Feet emerged from Benns’ personal and professional journey. Starting as a nail technician, she quickly recognized gaps in her training, especially around caring for diabetic clients. That realization deepened years later when her own mother, living with diabetes, needed regular pedicures. Benns committed herself to learning more, researching how to provide safe, informed foot care for those with specific health needs.
By 2018, she pursued advanced training focused on clients with conditions like diabetes and cancer, where precision and empathy are vital. Her experience at a podiatry clinic further shaped her holistic approach. Then in 2024, Benns was diagnosed with breast cancer, months later, her mother was also diagnosed with breast cancer. Instead of stepping back, she leaned in, finding profound meaning in her work. “Everything I’d been learning suddenly became deeply personal,” she says.
Now, Healthy Happy Feet is known for its suite model, delivering one-on-one appointments in a calm, hygienic environment, ideal for clients managing diabetes, cancer recovery, or other sensitive conditions. It offers a comprehensive treatment experience, performed by nail technicians who emphasize comfort and safety.
Pedicure treatments are designed to provide gentle nail and callus care, paired with a calming moisturizer massage and a resilient Dazzle Dry finish for lasting beauty. Curved or ingrown toenails are carefully corrected using a B/S brace, helping to ease discomfort and restore natural alignment.
Meanwhile, reflexology sessions apply focused pressure that encourages deep relaxation and supports healthy circulation. For toenails that are damaged or missing, prosthetic services offer a refined solution using podiatric antifungal gel and a resin base to recreate the look and feel of a natural nail with comfort in mind.
Notably, Healthy Happy Feet is built on a profound respect for the human body. “Feet may not always get the attention they deserve, yet they carry us through life every day, making them worthy of care,” Benns says. That thoughtful perspective is woven into every aspect of her practice, from the meticulous cleaning of tools to the personalized, soak-free pedicures designed to prioritize both comfort and well-being.

Besides its comprehensive services, Healthy Happy Feet is known for its commitment to collaboration. It’s part of a unique network of local practitioners in St. Louis who share the same mission of specialized foot care. Benns refers to them as a “sisterhood,” emphasizing collaboration. “There are far too many people who need what we do,” she says. “We lift each other and share knowledge so that clients, no matter where they go, receive the care they deserve.”
As Healthy Happy Feet enters its fifth year, its legacy continues to grow, rooted in compassion, grounded in knowledge, and guided by an unwavering commitment to serve with integrity. Benns states, “We’ll remain steadfast in our mission to elevate foot care into a mindful, restorative experience, reminding everyone that every step forward begins with healthy, happy feet.”
