elfWorks, a New York-based private therapy practice led by Dr. Amy Vigliotti, has announced the launch of a new global webinar supporting freshmen as they navigate the challenges of their first year in college. The upcoming global webinar has been designed with the understanding that the freshman year of college marks a pivotal period in a young adult’s life.
“This is a time of newfound independence, self-discovery, and separation from familiar structures. For some, it is also a time of anxiety, loneliness, or the pressure of self-definition,” says Dr. Amy Vigliotti, founder of SelfWorks. The session aims to provide tools and emotional support to help students manage these transitions while encouraging them to explore their values, priorities, and identities.

In addition to the freshmen-focused webinar, SelfWorks also announced the launch of another webinar targeting young adults. Titled “Staying Steady Through Uncertainty,” this webinar reintroduces a theme that resonated deeply during the COVID-19 pandemic. Designed for adults aged 18 and older, the session explores how individuals can cultivate resilience amid personal and societal instability. Participants can attend the live session or access a recording later, making it accessible to those balancing work and personal commitments.
SelfWorks also offers a wide range of therapies, including Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD, and Mindfulness Training. Alongside therapy sessions, SelfWorks runs a diverse set of workshops that address various dimensions of mental and emotional well-being that can be experienced virtually anywhere in the world.
These include “Embracing Purpose,” a program that helps participants connect their core values with actionable goals, and “Financial Planning: Breaking Down Barriers to Financial Health,” designed to empower individuals with practical financial management skills. Thanks to its unique blend of psychologist-led and easily relatable content, SelfWorks’ team is contracted by employers to help reduce workplace stressors, boost employee emotional intelligence, and enhance team cohesion.
The team also conducts workshops on cultivating awareness and calm, parenting for families with children aged 0–7, and creating a supportive space for cancer survivors and their families to find strength and connection after a life-altering diagnosis. These varied offerings reflect SelfWorks’ broader mission to help people from all backgrounds achieve their best selves through culturally competent care. With its newly opened third office in Garden City, Long Island, joining its existing locations in Flatiron and Midtown East, New York City, SelfWorks continues to expand its footprint to reach a broader and more diverse community both locally and virtually.
Dr. Vigliotti and her team encourage everyone to approach life’s unpredictability with flexibility and courage. “No one has ever pursued their ambition without encountering some challenges along the way,” she says. “But remember that every bold move can bring learning, growth, and new opportunities.”
Through these programs, SelfWorks aims to normalize the conversation around therapy and mental wellness while equipping individuals with the skills to face change with self-trust. Whether it is a freshman stepping onto campus for the first time or an adult recalibrating their life direction, the message remains the same: uncertainty is inevitable, but it can also be a space for growth.
