Founder Martin of The IBS and Gut Health Clinic marks a decade of practice, blending personal experience with professional expertise to reshape gut health support
The IBS Gut Health Clinic is celebrating a major milestone: 10 years in practice. Founded by gut health specialist Martin Cohen, the clinic has become a trusted destination for individuals struggling with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and digestive health challenges.
Over the past decade, Martin Cohen has supported hundreds of clients in reclaiming their wellbeing, proving that IBS does not have to be a lifelong burden.

A Journey Born from Personal Experience
Before becoming a practitioner, Martin enjoyed a successful career as a professional musician. But when both he and close family members developed serious gut health issues, he quickly realised how little support was available through traditional healthcare routes.
“Like many patients, I was given a diagnosis of IBS but no meaningful guidance on what to do next,” says Martin. “The message was essentially to ‘learn to live with it.’ Yet I could see from the research that there were real solutions available — solutions people simply weren’t being offered.”
Motivated to make a difference, Martin retrained at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM), qualifying in 2015. That same year, he opened his practice, and the IBS Gut Health Clinic was born.
Challenging the Status Quo in IBS Care
IBS is one of the most common gastrointestinal conditions, yet traditional healthcare often leaves patients frustrated and unsupported. While medical advice tends to focus on symptom management, cutting-edge research highlights the role of diet, microbiome balance, and lifestyle in addressing underlying causes.
For the past 10 years, Martin has been bridging that gap. At the clinic, clients receive in-depth assessments, advanced testing, and personalised nutrition and lifestyle plans designed to address the root drivers of IBS. This holistic and evidence-based approach goes beyond symptom relief to foster lasting change.
“Our mission has always been to empower people to take control of their health,” Martin explains. “Gut health impacts everything from digestion and energy to mood and immunity. By restoring balance, people don’t just ease their symptoms — they regain their life.”
A Decade of Impact
Since its founding, IBS Gut Health Clinic has helped countless clients find clarity, confidence, and freedom from digestive distress. Many arrive after years of frustration with conventional pathways, only to discover that with the right guidance, their health can be transformed.
Reflecting on 10 years in practice, Martin says:
“What I’m most proud of is seeing the change in people’s lives. Clients come to us feeling exhausted, isolated, and resigned to living with IBS forever. To watch them progress — to see their symptoms ease and their confidence return — that’s the most rewarding part of this work.”
Looking Ahead
While this milestone is an opportunity to celebrate a decade of impact, Martin is firmly focused on the future. With growing awareness of gut health and advances in microbiome science, he believes the next decade will bring even more opportunities to support clients in new and effective ways.
“IBS care is evolving rapidly,” Martin notes. “But the heart of our work will always be the same: listening, understanding, and giving people the tools they need to thrive.”
