The support money will specifically fund the 8th annual Barbers and Backpacks community outreach event held by the Leela Project. Barbers and Backpacks is one of the most beloved annual events held by the Leela Project because it provides a safe and fun environment for foster children who are students between kindergarten and 12th grade to get haircuts, backpacks, school supplies, a meal, and other resources, all free of charge for the kids. The program not only provides much-needed resources to this well-deserving, yet underserved community, but it’s also a fun day for all involved.
