Hillsboro Aero Academy (HAA), a leading provider of helicopter and airplane pilot career training based in the United States, has been officially recognized as an Approved Training Organization by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). The approval, based on HAA’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications, is valid through May 31, 2027.
This recognition allows Hillsboro Aero Academy to welcome and train students from Nepal in both its Airplane and Helicopter Professional Pilot Programs at its three training campuses in Oregon.

The approval follows an application initiated with the support of HAA’s partner in Nepal, Sudisha Aviation Consultant (SAC), in response to demand from prospective students seeking both helicopter and airplane training opportunities in the United States.
“We are pleased to receive approval from CAAN, which further strengthens our ability to support aspiring pilots from Nepal in pursuing their aviation careers,” said Natalia Cimpean, President of Hillsboro Aero Academy. “We look forward to welcoming Nepalese students to Hillsboro Aero Academy, and building long-term relationships as we help train the next generation of aviation professionals.”

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal is the national regulatory body responsible for overseeing civil aviation safety, licensing, and training standards in Nepal. Established in 1998, CAAN regulates aviation operations, air navigation services, and training organizations throughout the country.
With this approval in place, Hillsboro Aero Academy is now prepared to accept students from Nepal who wish to pursue professional pilot training and obtain FAA pilot certifications. The approval will facilitate the conversion process for student graduates to local licenses with the CAAN and comes after an extensive vetting process to ensure that the Hillsboro Aero Academy program meets CAAN’s standards for safety, training curriculum, and equipment. HAA expects the first Nepalese students to begin training in the near future.
