BRYCER, the creators of The Compliance Engine (TCE), announced the official launch of Premises Portal, a new service within TCE designed to expand fire code compliance participation by allowing property owners and managers to directly submit inspection reports to their Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), including local fire departments and code enforcement agencies. Premises Portal helps close compliance gaps, improve transparency, and strengthen communication between property owners.

Historically, life safety compliance reporting has relied on service providers to conduct inspections and submit reports, a practice that remains essential for regulated systems. Premises Portal expands this model by providing property owners with a secure, structured way to submit reports, such as emergency and exit lighting reports, when a licensed technician is not required. In addition, property owners can maintain accurate contact information, view system-level compliance status, and stay informed on requirements within TCE (The Compliance Engine). By increasing participation while preserving the role of service providers, Premises Portal improves data accuracy and enhances visibility for AHJs by empowering property owners to take a more active role in maintaining fire and life safety systems.
Core benefits of Premises Portal include:
- Direct report submission for qualifying systems when service providers are not required
- Improved compliance visibility for AHJs across more properties
- Increased transparency between premises stakeholders and fire departments
- Stronger accountability for maintaining fire and life safety systems
- Streamlined communication between property owners and local jurisdictions
“The Premises Portal expands compliance participation without increasing administrative burden for AHJs or service providers, ” said Jeff Atkins, BRYCER Vice President of Engineering. “We’re helping jurisdictions see more, act faster, and strengthen overall life safety compliance without changing the present model they rely on. "
Following successful pilot deployment with select jurisdictions, Premises Portal is now being introduced through a phased rollout designed to support operational excellence and scalable adoption. Once an AHJ enables the feature and confirms which premises are authorized to submit reports, BRYCER provides property owners with onboarding resources, guided training, and secure portal access to ensure smooth implementation and long-term compliance success.
Premises Portal marks a major step forward in ensuring systems are properly inspected, deficiencies are addressed, and buildings remain compliant. By expanding compliance participation, AHJs can also gain a more complete and accurate view of life safety compliance across their jurisdictions. In 2026, BRYCER will continue enhancing the platform with new innovative features and services that further strengthen TCE’s consistency, scalability, and ability to help build safer communities nationwide.
