Embrace Club, a digital marketplace for professional cuddling and home to the only cuddle studio in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, turns two this month. To celebrate, Embrace Club is hosting cuddle parties throughout October and November.
Through its online platform, Embrace Club connects clients with vetted professional cuddlers, known as Embracers, across the United States, while its Clinton Hill studio offers in-person sessions in Brooklyn. All Embrace Club services are strictly non-sexual and fully clothed. Sessions and events are built on explicit consent and firm boundaries, and clients report feeling calmer, less stressed, and less isolated afterward.
Embrace Club was founded by Melissa Franks, who has worked as a professional cuddler since 2020 and went on to complete formal training in [program/certification, year]. Originally from Costa Rica, Franks built Embrace Club to give people a safe space for human connection, regardless of age, gender, orientation, or background.
“Professional cuddling is the most rewarding work I’ve ever done,” said Franks. “My clients are native New Yorkers and immigrants, people from the LGBTQ+ community, people of deep faith, people who are conservative and people who are very open-minded. On the surface they have little in common, but in a session they all want the same thing: to feel safe and cared for. After six years in this work, I still feel lucky to do it in New York City.”
The anniversary cuddle parties are structured, guided group events that give newcomers and regular clients a way to experience platonic touch in a welcoming setting.
