Concept Illumination, a distributor of lighting solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings, today announced its participation in the very first Lighting Fair organized by the IES Montréal chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society. The event takes place on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at La Passerelle-Perspective in Old Montréal and closes with an evening networking cocktail.
For the first time, Montreal lighting contractors, engineers, architects, designers, and consultants will gather in one place, on one day, to see the products, technologies and practices shaping lighting projects across Quebec. Concept Illumination will host a booth where its team will meet the professionals who design and build commercial, industrial and institutional facilities.

A new approach to lighting: one point of contact
In a Montreal industrial lighting or eclairage commercial project, the steps are often disconnected from one another. Plans are analyzed on one side, products are specified on another, and then ordering, delivery and installation pass through yet more hands. At every handoff, information is lost, and the gap widens between what was designed and what finally gets installed on site.
Concept Illumination built its business model around that observation. The company brings these steps under one roof: it analyzes the plans, performs photometric studies in-house, and specifies the LED fixtures and controls suited to each space. It then prepares the quotations and submittal documents, handles ordering and delivery to the job site, and coordinates with electrical contractors through to the commissioning of the lighting control systems.

"Our promise is simple: one point of contact, from analysis to the job site, so that what is ordered, delivered and installed matches the plans and specifications and the requirements of the project," says Mylène Tat, Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Concept Illumination. "The professionals we will meet at the Lighting Fair know the cost of gaps between design and site reality all too well. That is exactly what our approach removes."
This approach rests on three areas of expertise that the company describes on its page dedicated to LED retrofits, lighting design and new construction: lighting design grounded in photometric analysis and compliant with current standards, support from the planning phase onward for new construction, and the conversion of existing systems to LED technology and high-performance controls.

A wide range of indoor and outdoor fixtures
Concept Illumination does not represent a single brand. The company works with several manufacturers and specifies, for each project, the product that fits the intended use, the constraints of the building and the available budget. That range makes it possible to compare options on technical merit before choosing the right one.
Indoors, the offering includes high bay fixtures for warehouses and plants, ceiling fixtures, strip lights, linear fixtures, LED panels and recessed fixtures for offices, retail spaces and institutional buildings. Outdoors, the company supplies poles and pole-mounted fixtures, floodlights, wall-mounted fixtures, bollards, and street and private roadway fixtures used in parking lots, industrial yards and municipal projects.
The company also offers lighting control systems, networked or standalone, to manage lighting according to how a space is used, its occupancy and its schedules. Occupancy sensing, dimming, photocells and time scheduling are integrated at the specification stage and then calibrated during commissioning.
Who this approach is for
Concept Illumination works with the engineers, architects and electrical contractors who deliver design-build projects in commercial, industrial and institutional environments. The company is involved as much in new construction, where it integrates into the construction schedule from the drawings onward, as in the modernization of existing installations, where it specifies reliable LED solutions to replace older fixtures.
Electrical contractors hold a particular place in this model. Concept Illumination does not replace them: it provides the studies, the spec sheets, the submittal documents and the products delivered to site, and stays available during installation to resolve the unexpected. The result is a collaboration where everyone does what they do best.
How a project unfolds
Every project follows the same path, from the first review of the project to post-project follow-up. It starts with a close review of the plans and specifications: the architectural and electrical drawings, the project requirements and the construction schedule. Next comes photometric analysis and simulation, where the team previews the solution with specialized software, configures light levels and control systems, and calibrates everything to the applicable standards and regulations.
The third step is product selection and procurement: a clear, budgeted proposal, ordering of materials, management of delivery lead times and delivery to the job site. During installation, the team provides installation guides, coordinates with the electricians, visits the site and resolves issues as they arise. The project closes with commissioning: programming of sensors, dimming and smart controls, final checks and handover of documentation.
For an engineer or an architect, this means the solution specified at the drawing stage is the one that gets delivered and commissioned. For a contractor, it means a supplier who has known the project from the start and who answers during the work.
Projects that speak for themselves
Founded in Montréal in 2009, Concept Illumination has completed more than 2,100 projects in over fifteen years of business. Its LED lighting projects and case studies across Quebec span the full range of settings that visitors to the Lighting Fair will recognize.
In the municipal sector, the company was awarded a five-year exclusive contract by the City of Mirabel to supply LED fixtures for the modernization of its street lighting, and it supplied the sports lighting for the upgrade of Beacon Hill Park in Beaconsfield to enhance the playing experience while reducing energy consumption. In the industrial sector, it specified and supplied the LED lighting for the Maisonneuve Terminal at the Port of Montréal to improve nighttime visibility for port operations. In new construction, Concept Illumination was involved from the initial design phase of Karrelex's new head office in Blainville, where it specified and supplied all indoor and outdoor lighting. In the commercial sector, the company supplied the lighting for Carrefour du Plateau in Gatineau as well as the architectural façade lighting for 1411 Crescent Street in downtown Montréal.
"It was a real pleasure to work with the Concept Illumination team on this modernization project for our lighting equipment. Their professionalism, technical knowledge of each of the products offered, and the efficiency of the installation team made this project a real success," says Benoit-G. Hubert, Port Infrastructure Project Manager at Termont Montréal Inc., in a testimonial published on the company's website.
See us at the Lighting Fair
Lighting professionals are invited to stop by the Concept Illumination booth to discuss their current projects, whether a new build, an expansion or a major renovation. The team will be able to discuss plans, answer questions about photometric studies and lighting controls, and explain concretely how a project runs with a single point of contact.
Tickets for the day are available from IES Montréal: https://iesmontreal.ca/produit/billet-participant-foire-declairage-2026/. The Lighting Fair takes place at La Passerelle-Perspective in Old Montréal on Thursday, October 29, 2026, followed by an evening networking cocktail.
