Cinco de Mayo Celebration at PlazAmericas

PlazAmericas (formerly Sharpstown Mall) is pleased to announce its 2011 Cinco de Mayo celebration. The mall is inviting everyone to join us at PlazAmericas to celebrate this traditional Mexican holiday on Sunday, May 1, 2011.

The Cinco de Mayo program at PlazAmericas is filled with free entertainment and includes games, live music, prize giveaways and more for the whole family to enjoy! The free entertainment will take place in the Food Court from 1p-7p and El Mercado at PlazAmericas from 2p-5p. PlazAmericas is proud to participate in the Cinco de Mayo celebration in Houston.

Spotlight Performances:

• Mariachi 2000 and Mariachi Imperial

• Folkloric Ballet "Mexico en Danzas”

• Clown Convention Show

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the 1862 victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla and is symbolic of Mexican pride, unity, and patriotism. It is an important day not only for the Mexican community but for everyone!
