UXUK Awards launch to honour the best in Usability, User Experience and Design

The inaugural User Experience UK (UXUK) Awards has today launched to find the most innovative and exceptional cases of user experience and user centred design.

The inaugural User Experience UK (UXUK) Awards has today launched to find the most innovative and exceptional cases of user experience and user centred design. Culminating in a glittering awards ceremony in London on November 13 2013, the UXUK Awards is set to attract entries UX professionals from organisations and consultancies alike vying for the top spots in a range of, what will undoubtedly be, hotly contested categories.

Organised by respected UX professionals and advocates from across the country, the UXUK Awards is borne out of an industry-wide common goal: to raise the profile and importance of user experience among wider business communities. Calling for entries to a full range of categories, winners will include those pushing boundaries and delivering superior user experience.

Founded by UX and User Centred Design consultancy Bunnyfoot - and sponsored by media industry giant Ogilvy Labs - the UXUK Awards recognises excellence in user-focused digital or service design, inviting key industry big hitters, UX professionals and advocates, to meet in the UK capital to celebrate pioneering practices in today’s digital landscape.

“An event that we believe is long overdue, the UXUK Awards has been organised to recognise industry best practices and crucially, to honour those placing the customer where they belong - at the heart of the development of digital design. This is the chance for UX professionals to showcase their talents, to come together to celebrate successes and to discuss innovations in this field. Congregating its panel of judges to include Owner of Artemis.bm, Steve Evans; Solution Architect at Microsoft, Jarnail Chudge; Founder at iJento, John Woods; Usability industry expert, Morag Reavley of American Express; Head of Design at UK Parliament, Gareth Sully; and CEO and Co-founder of Bunnyfoot, Jon Dodd, the UXUK Awards is set to separate the mediocre from the exceptional. The highly esteemed panel of judges - all pioneers and experts in usability - will seek to honour digital design that successfully puts user experience at the forefront of development.

With an impressive lineup of keynote speakers - due to be announced in the coming weeks - the awards hosted at sponsor Ogilvy’s spectacular Cabot Square venue in Canary Wharf, is set to be a stand-out event and one of the major talking points of 2013.

This is THE award to win. The Best User Experience Award will be presented to the very best of the best – the most inspiring, user-focused site, app or service


~ Best Innovation

This category shines the spotlight on the most intelligent, ground-breaking innovation in building a service that is focused around customer/audience needs


~ Best Multi/Omni-channel Experience

A category recognising innovation in joined-up, seamless interactions across multiple formats including mobile, desktop, physical shops and sales catalogues


~ Best Touch Experience

This category recognises excellence in user-focused tablet/touch-screen optimised applications


~ Best Transactional Experience

This category rewards the most user-focused experience when purchasing goods or services online


~ Best Effect on Business / Organisational Goals

Great customer experience often results in great return on investment. The winner of this award will be able to show the most successful example of effect over cost and organisational goals


~ Best Entertainment Experience

This award will be presented to the best, user-centric media or entertainment experience


~ Best Information / Not for Profit service

Not all efforts in user experience are undertaken to raise the bottom line. This category will recognise a not-for-profit/government site, app or service that has been designed with its audience in mind


~ Best Consumer Choice Support Experience

This award recognises innovation in consumer aggregation sites, providing customers with easy, reliable access to the best value products online
