This year’s User Experience UK Awards has published the shortlist of finalists battling it out for prizes recognising the most innovative and exceptional cases of user experience and user centred design.

Ahead of the glittering awards ceremony taking place in London on Wednesday November 13, the judging panel - an impressive line up of experts from the areas of user experience and digital design - met to select entries from industry big hitters and UX professionals. Looking for examples demonstrating excellence in user-focused digital or service design, judges were overwhelmed by the quality of entries.

Judged according to very strict criteria for each of the hotly contested categories, entries were scrutinised by the panel including Owner of Artemis.bm, Steve Evans; Solution Architect at Microsoft, Jarnail Chudge; Founder at iJento, John Woods; Usability industry expert, Morag Reavley of American Express; Head of Design at UK Parliament, Gareth Sully; and CEO and Co-founder of Bunnyfoot, Jon Dodd - all looking for the highest standard of digital experience being produced in the UK today.

“The calibre of entries we’ve received over the past couple of months has demonstrated to us that UX practice in the UK is world class, leading the way in creating experiences that focus on the needs of the user while fulfilling the business objective. The judges had a very tough time whittling the numbers down - there were a few heated discussions and long evenings spent making the final shortlist and we’re very much looking forward to the awards ceremony next week to honour those at the top of their game,” explained Jon Dodd, CEO and Co-Founder of Bunnyfoot.

Founded by UX and User Centred Design consultancy Bunnyfoot - and sponsored by media industry giant Ogilvy - the UXUK Awards are borne out of an industry-wide common goal: to raise the profile and importance of user experience among wider business communities.

After what is certain to be lengthy deliberation and discussion, the winners of the inaugural UXUK Awards will be announced at the awards ceremony, itself an evening deemed a celebration of pioneering practices in today’s digital landscape. With an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, the awards hosted at sponsor Ogilvy’s spectacular Cabot Square venue in Canary Wharf, is set to be a stand-out event and one of the major talking points of 2013.

Having received Industry backing from the outset, the awards has welcomed Ogilvy Digital Labs, Rosenfeld Media, Salt Recruitment, Loop 11, Balsamiq, Axure RP and Mr. Tappy to support the event, sponsor categories and reward nominees and winners.
