Social movements are inspired everyday, with some gaining more prominence than others, but each one bearing significant importance to the champions of these causes. The movement towards helping more kids development a greater sense of self-worth has become an important cause for many with issues such as bullying in schools becoming more highlighted in the media. This cause is particularly important for young sisters Elyssa and Elisha Fernandez, ages 9 and 10, who are already making headway in their mission to spark a new movement that invites kids across the globe to learn to believe in themselves.

Having written and illustrated her first book by age 7, Elyssa helped sparked the sisters’ movement with the release of See What I Can Become in 2011. Both Elyssa and Elisha are accomplished artists who boast that they have been avid readers since they can remember. They credit their mother, Elayna Fernandez, an accomplished author in her own right and founder of The Positive Mom Foundation, with helping them develop their writing expertise.

The new book co-written and illustrated by the Fernandez sisters I Love ME! is a 7-step guide to building a better sense of self-value for children through learning more about who they are. Says the sisters, “We want to spread ideas about making the world a better place through art, and we want to let every kid know that they can be their best selves and have a voice to change the world.”

I Love ME! is set to be released October 15. The book is touted as a means to help kids who have difficulty loving who they are take the first step to doing so. Elyssa and Elisha further note, “Our mom always tells us to not be afraid about what others will think about us and to stand up for what we believe in.”
