Calm Mind Counseling Center and its team of certified EMDR therapists are now offering EMDR Certification Consultation Training. EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy that allows people to heal from their emotional distress due to disturbing experiences in the past. EMDR therapy is proven to be an effective treatment for adults, teens, and children suffering from anxiety, grief and loss, panic attacks, personality disorders, phobias, PTSD, depression, sexual assault, dissociative disorders, sleep disturbances, eating disorders, and substance abuse.
Due to the success of the treatment, several clinicians are now adopting the therapy, but they need EMDR certification. Suzanne Muirheid, the founder of Calm Mind Counseling Center, is a passionate advocate of EMDR. She is dedicated to providing training and mentorship for EMDR clinicians. Suzanne has extensive training and experience in using EMDR, with a special focus on ego state therapy and parts work, dissociative disorders, complex trauma or C-PTSD, and attachment trauma. Being an EMDRIA-approved consultant and an EMDR Institute facilitator, Suzanne brings together years of experience and wants to share her expertise through education and consultation opportunities for clinicians at various skill levels.
Suzanne, a certified EMDR specialist, is now accepting new consultees at various experience levels for consultation. She can provide approved hours for clinicians attending basic training with the EMDR Institute (10 hours) and clinicians seeking EMDR certification from EMDRIA (20 hours). Suzanne also offers individual in-person or virtual consultations, which can be scheduled on an as-needed or regular basis for $140 per hour. The group consultation for one hour starts at $140 for four sessions. These consultations are provided virtually once a month.
Suzanne also offers workshops approved by EMDRIA and NBCC Credits. Interested clinicians can contact the office for the schedules and costs of the EMDR Refresher Course and the Understanding Structural Dissociation Course. EMDR networking events are also conducted to help clinicians join a community of therapists passionate about improving their EMDR skills. The events are designed to foster the community and increase their knowledge about EMDR therapy and trauma-related techniques. Lastly, there is a Certification Program for Exceptional EMDR Training and Support.
Clinicians who wish to be certified EMDR specialists must complete 20 hours of consultation with an EMDRIA-approved consultant. The advanced level of training in EMDR therapy covers more than just the basics. It provides a higher level of expertise that is otherwise not available in the EMDR basic training. The certification is proof that EMDR clinicians are equipped with the right skills and proficiency to offer services as EMDR trauma therapists. For private practitioners, the certification showcases their qualifications and competency. It also positions them as leading practitioners in the field of mental therapy. Aside from eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, Calm Mind Counseling Center offers trauma-informed therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and ego-state therapy.
