Taking place on Saturday, September 27th, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, this restorative gathering, hosted by Fibromyalgia Patient Education and Support Organization’s founder, Necie L Edwards, in partnership with Therapy District, aims to infuse art, tea and the connection into the journey of healing.
Designed to provide a gentle, creative outlet for individuals that are living with chronic pain and their supporters, the event has been curated to create a calming environment. Also open to anyone seeking a mindful escape, participants will sip on a beautiful selection of wellness teas while they’re guided through a painting session that focuses on powerful themes of hope and resilience.
The event name ‘Colors of Hope’ has been carefully chosen to reflect the nature of the painting experience – where each color can be used to symbolize an aspect of resilience and healing.
Alongside enjoyment, there is an educational element where painters will be able to explore the selection of herbal teas, discovering more about their calming and restorative benefits. To complete the experience, the team from Therapy District will share resources and strategies for managing chronic pain and improving wellbeing.
The event is open to all, whether new to painting or with many years of artistic development to call on.
All attendees will leave with a piece of art that reflects their personal journey, but also a heart full of hope and new friends and connections that they can continue the conversation with in the community.
Necie L Edwards, Founder of Fibromyalgia Patient Education and Support Organization, said, “This event realizes the best in collaboration between awareness-raising and therapeutic professionals. Together, we believe in taking a holistic approach to wellbeing - and creative expression and self-discovery is a powerful part of the wellbeing experience.”
“This event is about more than just painting; it’s about creating a safe and understanding community in which people can connect, share and find moments of peace, joy and wellness. We invite you to explore creativity as an important form of self-care, where you will leave with art and a reinvigorated sense of hope and connection.”
