This week Drivers Education of America announced that its existing online driver education course, accepted at all Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) exam stations, is now valid also for Ohioans ages 18, 19, and 20 who must meet the recent Ohio mandated driver's education training laws. Prior to October 2025, those in Ohio needing a driver's license were able to bypass mandatory driver education and directly apply for an Ohio license. Ohio's new law now requires those 18,19, and 20 years old to take the course. The company's course also is good for those ages 21 and over in Ohio who currently qualify for an Limited Term License.

Chad Henry, owner of Drivers Education of America, said, "The course has become required because the statistics show that young people are waiting to get their drivers license until they are older, 18 and 19. The problem still remains is their brains don't begin to really understand risk or danger until they are around 24 years old. Girls brain's develop faster than boys so they are safer drivers at a younger age. So a way we have as a state to hopefully decrease traffic fatalities is through solid consistent training. Motor vehicles are the number one cause of all deaths in this country for people under the age of 28. Ohio is a leader in traffic safety and I think this new requirement will help Ohio stay in the lead.
The company's website indicates that the course is all video content, requiring no reading. Henry indicated that in his years of driver education and driving instruction that students who take drivers education with video content tend to be safer drivers and have higher odds of passing one's driving test.
The course is self-paced and it can be taken on any internet-enabled device from smart phones, to tablets to laptops. According to Drivers Education of America the official state Drivers License written test is included for free with the purchase of the online Ohio driver education course.
