Product Air Heating, Cooling, and Electric LLC, a family-run HVAC and electrical contractor serving residential customers throughout Snohomish County, King County, Island County, Skagit County, and the greater Seattle metropolitan area, announced the expansion of its residential electrical services to address rising demand across Western Washington.
As more households adopt heat pumps, electric vehicles, and high-efficiency appliances, many older homes are operating beyond the capacity their electrical systems were designed to handle.
“A lot of older panels are not sized for modern technology,” says Sergey Nikolin, co-founder of Product Air Heating, Cooling, and Electric, LLC. “Heat pumps, electrification, car chargers. They just don’t have enough capacity to support all those things.”

Aging Panels and Increasing Electrical Load
Many homes built 20 to 30 years ago were not engineered for today’s energy usage. With the rapid shift toward electrification, panel upgrades are becoming one of the most common recommendations during service visits.
“Power surges happen quite a bit, especially with car chargers and heat pumps being added to the grid,” Nikolin explains. “When that happens, it can wipe out appliances. And in modern homes, there’s a lot of money sitting in those control boards.”
Product Air has seen a growing number of homeowners seeking full panel evaluations after experiencing breaker trips, buzzing sounds, or unexplained electrical fluctuations.
Certain outdated panels have been widely identified as fire hazards and are often flagged during inspections or by insurance providers.
Backup Generator Installation and Storm Preparedness
Following recent outages, backup generator installations have become a major focus for homeowners seeking long-term reliability.
“A generator is like insurance,” Nikolin says. “We collect what is important for you, then we calculate what type of generator meets your needs. Professional units can run for weeks. If you have life support devices, refrigeration, heating, that matters.”
Professional generator installations include load calculations, safe transfer switch integration, dedicated circuits for critical systems, and full code compliance. Permanently installed systems connected to natural gas or propane can operate for extended periods.
Nikolin cautioned against do-it-yourself electrical installations, particularly for high-load systems.
“We see a lot of DIY: incorrect wire size, melted wires, fires,” he says. “That’s why it needs to be done right.”
EV Chargers and Electrification Planning
Electric vehicle adoption continues to accelerate across Western Washington. However, charger installation requires careful evaluation of panel capacity and wiring.
“Improper wire sizing is dangerous. We’ve seen melted wires and overheated circuits,” Nikolin says.
Before installing a charger, Product Air performs load calculations to determine whether a panel upgrade is required.
Certified Expertise and Operational Readiness
Product Air’s electrical services are delivered by licensed electricians holding multiple industry certifications, including Energy Skilled recognition by the U.S. Department of Energy and Journeyman O2 electrical licensing.
“The Department of Energy verified that the training meets modern requirements of energy saving,” Nikolin says. “In Washington, you have to be an electrical contractor, and your technicians have to carry their Journeyman licenses. That protects the homeowner.”
Same-Day Electrical Service Without Compromising Safety
The company also maintains operational systems designed for rapid response when electrical issues arise, including sufficient technicians, a structured on-call schedule, and live customer support rather than automated systems.
Product Air provides same-day service in many cases and manages required permits and inspections to ensure all work meets current code.
“Speed should never come at the expense of safety,” Nikolin says. “Our technicians are trained to diagnose and complete work correctly the first time. People aren’t a transaction for us. They’re a relationship.”
