Thomas Bruggemann spent years in the stunt world during an era when action films relied on practical effects and physical performance. His credits are tied to recognizable titles, and his background in stunts shows up in everything he does: the timing, the impact, the willingness to take a hit and keep going.
Now he's channeling that same fearlessness into something far more vulnerable. Through his project Heartfelt Lyrics, Bruggemann has built a catalog of over 80 original songs along with music videos, each one drawn from real moments in his life. No ghostwriters. No fictional characters. Every lyric is autobiographical.
The catalog spans the full weight of human experience. "Mama's Sorry" was written from the perspective of his niece, who lost her battle with addiction, speaking to the two daughters she left behind. "Still Here Just Don't Know Why" confronts the survivor's guilt that follows soldiers home from war. "Every song comes from real moments in my life," Bruggemann says. "The lyrics are all original and come straight from my experiences, my observations, and the people I love. Writing these songs has been extremely emotional and cathartic. When you listen, I hope you don't just hear the songs. I hope you really feel something."
Bruggemann's production process is part of what makes the project distinctive.
