Available as a coupe, convertible or four-door Gran Coupe, the BMW 6 Series and its high-performance BMW M6 brethren provide drivers with luxury on their own terms, and for the 2016 model year, they will receive even more stylish options. Expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2015, the refreshed 2016 BMW 6 Series and M6 will make their public debut at 2015 Detroit Auto Show next month, donning sleek design tweaks and new upgrade packages.

Along with the updated 2016 BMW M6 models, the 2016 BMW 6 Series Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe sport a revamped kidney grille that features nine bars instead of 10 to direct more cooling air toward the powerful engines. Formerly divided into three separate compartments, the lower air intake is now a wide, single band that is topped at the corners by three-unit LED fog lamps. The light sources in the standard Adaptive Full-LED headlights have also been restyled, while new turn-indicator light strips are integrated into the more aerodynamic side mirrors. On Gran Coupe models, buyers will find new side-window surrounds near the C-pillars, which are badged with new "Gran Coupe" lettering.

"The BMW 6 Series allows drivers to make a big statement that is backed up by big performance, and for the 2016 model year, they'll be able to turn even more heads during their commutes," said Michael Maloney, general manager of BMW of Catonsville, a Baltimore BMW dealer. "Regardless of the model, the refreshed 6 Series lineup will come with bolder styling, but buyers will be able to stand out from fellow owners by personalizing their car with new options and packages."

For drivers who desire a more aggressive look, a new M Sport Edition package will add 20-inch M wheels and an M aerodynamics kit to the 6 Series while outfitting the cabin with an M sport steering wheel, ventilated front seats, contrast stitching, a leather dashboard and soft-close doors. On the other hand, the appropriately named Black Accent Package will distinguish the exterior with BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim and high-gloss black paint on the grille bars and tailpipe tips. Buyers will also be able to opt for new 20-inch multi-spoke wheels and bi-color leather upholstery across the 2016 BMW 6 Series lineup.
