Leading indoor basketball courts, Chicago Supreme Courts announced the opening of registration for the upcoming winter Jump Start Camps. The camps include both boys and girls youth basketball, drawing in young kids from across the city. Each year, more youngsters are joining, which is a testament to the growing popularity of youth basketball in the city, if not the entire state.
According to Supreme Courts, the program’s goal is to provide youth kids of K-2nd grade a fun environment filled with learning. Young players grapple with the fundamentals of playing basketball, and more importantly, have a love for the game. The goal is to ensure that kids leaving the Jump Start session will know how to utilize good footwork and passing form, while dribbling, pivoting, and shooting. Supreme Courts has two Jump Start sessions for winter: the first is from November to December, with the second being from January to February. Registration for both programs or sessions is currently open.
The program has professional coaches on hand, Biddy Ball rules, the skills learned are practiced regularly, played on 8-foot rims, and there is also a player of the week. Parents and schools are strongly advised to get in on the program early, since slots quickly get booked. Many parents want their kids to learn the ins and outs of basketball from leading coaches, so getting a spot can prove challenging for anyone hopping on late.
