New York-based Freight Architect™ and NVOCC Jaguar Freight have announced that it is looking to grow its collaboration strategy with companies, both inside and outside the freight industry, to form long-term partnerships that deliver mutual benefit to both parties, as well as their customers.

This is part of Jaguar Freight's ongoing drive to position itself as a partner for its clients throughout the supply chain, resulting in long-lasting valuable relationships, says Jaguar Freight CEO Simon Kaye. Founded in 1993, one of the company's very first clients was a major brand within the beauty and cosmetics industry. This partnership lasted over 23 years and was extremely beneficial to both parties. Long lasting relationships such as this allow not only the businesses themselves to grow and thrive but also aid in the evolution of global supply-chains.

Its involvement with that business expanded considerably over time, beginning with international ocean freight and later involving international air and domestic shipping. The partnership also involved several of Jaguar Freight's technology solutions, which has given Jaguar a foothold into the cosmetics, health and beauty sector, including relationships with companies that produce cosmetics ingredients and packaging, as well as promotional and marketing companies.

“By working with companies in a particular industry for an extended period of time, we also become experts in that industry, understanding the various nuances, the peaks and troughs of the business cycle, and how to work with different suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors. That's certainly something that's been a key part of our success over the last 30 years,” Kaye says.

Jaguar Freight is constantly looking to build its network with companies working outside its realm of expertise, delivering value to its partners and benefiting from the partner's capabilities. For example, Jaguar has a long-standing relationship with a customs attorney, who can provide advice and other legal services to its clients that need them. It also has good relationships with distributors, external manufacturers, and third-party logistics companies that it can vouch for and recommend to its clients.

Another major partner of Jaguar Freight is a trade finance company, which facilitates domestic and international trade by providing purchase order financing for import and export activities and reducing risk. Jaguar Freight has recommended this company to its clients and vice-versa, leading to a strong symbiotic relationship.

“What we can bring to our partners is a streamlined, efficient, tech-enabled supply chain solution that will be of value to their clients who are looking to improve their supply chain capabilities by adding automation and technology,” Kaye says. “We welcome the opportunity to talk to those companies and see if there is an appropriate fit and where we could add value. I always say that, if we're unable to add value to a prospect or partner, then we don't want to do business with them. We don't want to put them through the whole rigmarole of technological change just to remain stuck in the status quo.”
