Berry has come a long way in his journey to become an entrepreneur. For most of his life, Berry was preparing himself to become a lawyer and represent NFL players. However, this trajectory shifted dramatically when he realized his true passion was entrepreneurship .

In his final year of college, Berry passed the LSATS and was admitted into law school the following fall. However, during his last semester at University, Berry finished his classes early, giving him the mental space to really think about where he was going in life and his true passions.

During this time, Berry identified opportunities that were missing in the market or under-represented. This analysis became his new passion. He decided to decline his admission to law school and pursue the creation of products that will impact people's lives. Berry had no business experience and says he didn’t know anything about product development or marketing. However, where he lacked experience, he excelled in determination to follow through with his vision to help as many people as possible.

When Berry revealed to his family his decision, they couldn’t believe what they were hearing. His mother initially thought he was crazy, but soon Berry’s contagious enthusiasm and due diligence won her over.

While diving into development,as well as manufacturing and marketing, Berry concentrated his efforts on a travel toothbrush that had everything needed for oral care on the go.The result? Brushee, an affordable pocket sized, on-the-go toothbrush that is an ideal travel accessory came to fruition. Berry says the market for something like Brushee was unique because other travel toothbrushes were low quality, which he believes is a disservice considering they are made by billion dollar companies.

Berry drew his inspiration for Brushee from John Osher, a serial entrepreneur, who developed the first affordable spin toothbrush. Looking at his inspiration, Berry soon realized he had an adept ability to recognize untapped markets for growth. As a small black-owned Founder, Berry launched Brushee with nominal capital raised by family and friend.Within Brushee’s first official year to market, Brushee became widely successful generating nearly $1M in revenue and according to Berry supersedes any similar product on the market.

As an entrepreneur, Berry began working with private equity to expand BerryGood Products, and acquire consumer centric brands. One of the short term goals of the company is to have a deep impact on people’s lives through the food and beverage industry as well as supplemental products. To achieve this, Berry plans to acquire and work on exciting new products, while improving deficiencies in the industry.

“My passion for impacting as many lives as possible has driven me to innovate and keep developing products that will truly make a difference in everyday lives,” says Berry. “The reason I pursued being an NFL agent was because I wanted to create a new future alongside the athletes, but I have the ability to help more lives through the work we’re doing with Brushee and BerryGood Products. I hope that our success serves as inspiration for other young black founders and look forward to supporting their endeavors as our business grows"”

Berry’s long-term plans are to continue with his passion for giving back. As BerryGood’s success continues, he plans to create a foundation to foster entrepreneurship among disadvantaged youth with similar passions and ideas.

“Although I take pride in our achievements, I recognize the challenges I had to surmount while navigating the learning curve of systems and processes. Those challenges represented lost time which in turn increased costs for production and speed to market. I intend to contribute a portion of profits, along with my experience, to aspiring young entrepreneurs who can learn from my journey and others like me. Unfortunately, countless ingenious concepts remain unrealized due to the complexities and the unknowns of business development. My aspiration is to allow a greater number of successful founders to not only materialize but make a meaningful impact on the world as a we know it by eliminating these barriers”

You can find Brushee on their website and Amazon Store.
