Birch’s struggles with depression and anxiety became a heavy burden in his life following deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan when he served in the United States Military. During these deployments Birch’s marriage began to suffer when his wife at the time cheated on him. Following his return to the U.S. Birch also had an affair, and due to a lack of communication with his wife, which he tried to fix through counseling, they ended up getting a divorce.

Being away from his children, feeling alone and as if no one loved him, Birch began experiencing severe depression, which amplified the PTSD he suffered from active duty combat overseas. To try and deal with the anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts he was suffering from, Birch began to drink heavily. He says this only made his situation worse. He didn’t realize it at the time but Birch was constantly engaged in toxic relationships with women as a way to overcome the feelings of loneliness.

All the negativity Birch was experiencing came to the forefront of his life in 2018 following a fight he had with his girlfriend at the time. He says they had already been having frequent arguments while living together, but when Birch showed her a message he had written out to his mother that explained why he was going to commit suicide his girlfriend told him to slit his own wrists. Birch says this was a breaking point in his life, which led him to pointing a loaded gun at his head. When the police arrived at Birch’s home he was taken to an inpatient psychiatric facility where he stayed for 48 hours. It was there he realized he had to make a change and began improving himself.

When Birch began going to therapy sessions he found it only helped him identify triggers for the anxiety and depression he suffered from and it didn’t give him the skills to identify the real issues in his life that caused his mental health struggles. Through his own self reflection, Birch realized he was responsible for causing the problems in his life. He looked back at his time in the military and the exercises and discipline it gave him and he found if he began structuring his life the way it had been in the military it would make a positive change for him.

He says he began posting his transformation process through daily exercises and a disciplined routine on social media. As his following began to grow, Birch started podcasting when one of his friends helped him realize that through the podcast he was essentially coaching people by sharing his life experiences and how he overcame his struggles through a commitment to

exercise, discipline and routine.

In April of 2023, Birch founded Delta Fit Coaching with the aim to help people reach their goals through a structured routine of exercise, healthy eating, reading and cutting out bad habits. Birch says…

“I’m very direct with the people I work with, and I ensure that we are open and honest with each other, so that I can be able to really help them in their journey to a better life,” says Birch. “I also don’t take on clients that I know I won’t be able to help because I don’t want to promise anyone that I can make a change in their life and then not be able to provide them with the best possible service.”

When Birch founded Delta Fit Coaching he began to see how many people are suffering from many different types of mental health issues and bad habits.

“I started realizing there are so many people who suffer in life from depression, anxiety and even things that keep them from reaching their full potential which I’ve seen in the form of unhealthy eating, internet addictions and so many external factors in their lives,” says Birch. “I’ve been able to overcome the worst parts of my life, so I know that I can help people walk through the darkness they are experiencing and come out of it with a new positive outlook in life that will bring them true success and happiness.”
