There are as many stories to ‘finding one’s calling’ as there are people, with each one adding a valuable thread to the tapestry. For Pat Williams, a Chicago-based film producer with over 20 years of experience, that journey was filled with fate-like moments, connections sparking growth, and many epiphany moments. Throughout every chapter, Pat has been driven by her insatiable urge to spread positivity and sheer love, leaving an eternal impact on the world.

Though to some, the dynamic and creative realm of media is the great big unknown; Pat knows this landscape like the back of her hand. Since entering the workforce over 20 years ago, she has excelled as a writer and editor, meticulously sharpening her skills as she sought her purpose. Circumstances pushed her to change careers; in that in-between stage, dedicated to finding her calling and with an abundance of free time, Pat received a life-defining call from Catrina Williams, a friend immersed in the movie industry.

After a few “This is nonsensical!” “I know nothing about films,” and other dismissive responses, Pat listened to her gut feeling, packed her bags, and traveled to Richmond, Virginia, leaving her hometown of Chicago to chase an adventure. Recruited as a producer for the making of Homesick, a project involving James Avery, known best as Uncle Phil on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Pat was thrown into the deep end, forced to learn the craft extemporaneously.

Overcoming all the challenges—the most detrimental one being her own limiting beliefs—Pat successfully secured a distribution deal for the project. Though other factors ultimately put a spanner in the works, shutting further production, this small triumph was enough to help Pat grow in confidence, inspiring her to pursue a career as a film producer—a role she felt was the perfect match for her personality, skill set, and passion.

While working in the industry, Pat noticed certain gaps many producers, directors, and others involved in the process grapple with. She realized that, though cinematography is a predominantly creative industry, projects can’t thrive without adequate capital and distribution. Without either of these aspects, films’ chances of reaching the masses and succeeding drastically drop. In all her endeavors, Pat ensures the deficiencies are filled, and no stone is left unturned.

In 2014, after nearly a decade spent as a prosperous producer, the signs of working in a competitive, fast-paced, and fluctuating industry revealed themselves, resulting in one of the most common conditions of the 21st century—career burnout. This crisis prompted her to enter the real estate landscape, in which she remained for five years.

Pat had an epiphany moment in 2019 that sparked her to return to the film-producing path. That realization—the lack of platforms where faith-based and entertaining films intertwine—inspired the conceptualization of KINGPIX, a streaming platform, available on a mobile app on iOS and Android. Pat, a devout Christian dedicated to spreading the positive message of God in an accessible way, merged the two worlds that transformed Pat’s life, eradicating the need to choose between heartfelt motivation and sheer entertainment.

Now a seasoned film producer and the catalyst of change in the faith-based film field, Pat Williams’ story began in the heart of the media industry. From overcoming challenges and limiting beliefs to finding her purpose with KINGPIX, Pat’s journey is a testament to the power of dedication, curiosity, and openness. “If someone told me 20 years ago I would be working as a film producer with some of the most renowned names in the industry, I would’ve laughed,” she adds. “But here we are. KINGPIX is the labor of my life’s passion and experience, and I’m ready to embrace what the future holds.”
