Royal Thai Army Chief Prayuth Chan-ocha opened the 2014 ease drought project on March 6 at the 2nd Cavalry Division King’s (Royal) Guard.

The Royal Thai Army has successfully conducted the ease drought project to help residents in drought-ravaged areas nationwide since the project was established in 1999.

This year, the Royal Thai Army sent troops, vehicles, water tanker trucks, tools and other equipment to help residents facing potable water shortages. This project will run from March to August 2014.

Royal Thai Army Chief Prayuth Chan-ocha issued orders to the Army Mitigation Center, a leading center to coordinate collaboration with four departments representing the public and private sectors, including the Provincial Electricity Authority, Provincial Waterworks Authority, PTT Public Company Limited and Department of Groundwater Resources.

In the past, the Royal Thai Army has prepared to improve the water resources project and has developed water resources and drought solutions following the policies of the acting government, such as the Nong Lerng Peua of Kaem Ling Project initiated by His Majesty the King, Honor watershed restoration projects and the Tree Family project.

The project of the Royal Thai Army was prepared to offer to our King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikij.

In addition, the Royal Thai Army and related institutions anticipate and intend to help residents. The Royal Thai Army provides the royal initiative guidelines to adopt a sustainable solution.
