In the fast-paced world of achievement and service, burnout lurks like a silent adversary, sapping joy and passion. Laura Jack, founder of The Compassion Code Academy, intimately understands this struggle.
Laura's story begins with a profound loss – the untimely death of her mother, her best friend and confidant. Leaving her adventure-filled life in Panama, she moved back to the States seeking solace and searching for comfort after the crushing blow of losing her mom. Little did she know, this would become the greatest journey of her life. With the desire to rediscover herself, her joy, and her confidence, Laura did everything she could find to her light after loss.

Her goal then became clear: to help people love their life after loss, no matter the loss.
Laura later became a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist and trainer for The Grief Recovery Institute®. Throughout the last decade, training thousands of service professionals who support grieving people (counselors, clergy, social workers, health-care providers, and others who care), Laura witnessed firsthand the dramatic impact burnout and compassion fatigue played in these people’s lives.
People who serve others personally and professionally would consistently share their struggle of not knowing how to effectively communicate and support others without taking on the weight of the world. This understanding inspired the writing of her best-selling book The Compassion Code: How to Say the Right Thing when the Wrong Thing Happens, which became the backbone of her transformative coaching program: The Compassion Code Academy.
The 12-week intensive program is tailor-made for those navigating burnout who find themselves at a crossroads. Laura's focus on high-achievers who have a tendency toward over-giving and self-sacrifice resonates with professionals amid their burnout battles. The academy offers a lifeline, a deep transformational process that creates both a clear path forward and a ripple effect that positively impacts every area of life.
The Academy's impact extends beyond individual transformations. Organizations bring Laura in for human-centric wellness initiatives as a response to burnout and compassion fatigue. Using transformative communication and leadership strategies, she equips leaders and teams with the necessary skills to navigate challenges, communicate effectively, and foster a thriving workplace culture where the people feel more connected, resilient, empowered, self-accepting, and well.
With heartfelt, relatable stories, compassion coaching tips, and abundant loving action steps, Laura's book ‘The Compassion Code’ serves as the cornerstone of both the Academy's teachings as well as her organizational speaking and training.
Her book along with The Compassion Code Academy bridges the gap between workplace leadership and overall well-being.
More than a program, The Compassion Code Academy is a lifeline, guiding those ready to rediscover their light amid burnout’s shadows. Laura Jack’s journey illuminates the path for service-centered professionals, offering not just a way to confront burnout but a roadmap to emerge as resilient leaders in their own lives. In the face of life’s challenges, it’s a call to embrace growth and rediscover the light within.
To add a heartwarming touch, Laura Jack reveals her double life as Laylani Colibri, the creator behind Love Notes From Your Mom—an Instagram account dedicated to spreading the warmth and unconditional love of a mother. With 35,000 followers and 126 notes (and counting), Love Notes is a community fostering healing connections, whether you’re a mom expressing love, seeking solace from loss, or simply longing for connection.
